OUR STORY BEGINS WITH
The smell of a barn. The sounds. Knowing that every day has its own story because we're interacting with horses, one of nature's most amazingly intuitive creatures. We know that ultimately, they are not ours to control. Instead, we coexist, nurturing each other's experiences, sharing knowledge, and together, achieving excellence. Fueled by passion.

ABOUT FLACO FARMS
Hi, I'm Victor Sobrevals, the owner of Flaco Farms. I have decades of experience riding, training, and caring for horses across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more about my background!

My first experience with horses was with my dad in a lienzo charro in Veracruz, Mexico, where we participated in team competitions combining horsemanship, roping, and other skills that are deeply rooted in Mexican culture and an artful expression of our traditions. As I grew older, some good friends with ranchos (small farms), showed me the ways of the vaquero and ranch life, and I even participated in some jaripeos or bull-riding events. After that, I took English riding lessons and found my true passion and destiny. I knew I'd never find happiness studying to be a lawyer or working behind a desk. I had a different dream, to wake up and look out on a field with horses grazing freely against a background that looks like a painting.
So I worked hard, and after winning some junior amateur show jumping competitions, I earned my way into national competition at top shows. In addition to riding my own horses, I started developing young horses for other people, and working with a range of riders from Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. Those experiences, combined with my Spanish and English fluency, led to my first job coordinating a Mexico and U.S. tour for the Australian Olympian, rider Matt Williams. From there, I joined the Willis Equestrian team, owned and operated by Rowan Willis, and traveled to the iconic Spruce Meadows facility in Calgary Alberta. While in Calgary, I also worked at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, another state-of-the-art equestrian facility where I gained more valuable experience. I also hauled horses commercially for Foothills Horse Transport, one of the largest transport companies in western Canada, and a leading provider of Cross Border Horse Transportation. All of that experience led to making one of my biggest dreams come true, working for Spruce Meadows! I made many lifelong friendships there, including with the Southern family who built and still operate that magical place.
Thanks for letting me share a little more about my background. I'm looking forward to learning about you and how I can help with your equestrian journey!
